Our Brands

We choose every brand in the shop by hand — for how a thing is made, how it wears, and whether it is still lovely once it has been handed down. Some are Danish, some are French, a few are made an hour up the road. All of them are here because we would put them in our own homes.

Come and see them on the shelves at 101-664 Beach Road in Qualicum Beach, or shop the whole collection online, anywhere in Canada.

Our most-loved

Mabē

Our most-shipped brand — more Mabē leaves this shop for the rest of Canada than anything else we carry. Buckle carriers and toddler slings in cotton and cotton-linen with gold hardware: breathable, genuinely comfortable across a long day, and good-looking enough that you forget you are wearing baby gear. The Monarch is the one everyone starts with, in solids and prints. If you are carrying, start here.

Quincy Mae

Organic cotton basics from California, in the muted, earthy palette that made them a nursery staple. Ribbed bodysuits, gauzy sets and knit blankets — the pieces parents come back for with every new baby. Our largest collection, and our most-repeated purchase.

Maileg

Danish mice, rabbits and their extremely small furniture. A Maileg mouse arrives in a matchbox and stays in the family for decades — this is the brand people drive to Qualicum Beach for. Start with a Little Sister or Brother mouse, then add the house.

Mushie

Scandinavian design applied to the unglamorous things: plates, cups, teethers, bibs. BPA-free, beautifully coloured, and priced so you don't mind when one goes under the sofa.

Rylee + Cru

Dreamy prints and soft, slightly oversized shapes from California. The dresses and rompers that get worn for photographs and then, happily, everywhere else.

Kyte Baby

Bamboo sleepwear that's genuinely cooler and softer than cotton. TOG-rated sleep bags and zippered footies in colours you'll actually want in your photos. If you're buying one thing for a new baby, buy a sleep bag.

Jamie Kay

Organic cotton knitwear and prints from New Zealand, in a soft, sun-washed palette. Beautifully made pieces that hold their shape through repeated washing and a second or third child.

Pehr

Canadian, Toronto-based, and hand-printed. Organic nursery textiles and the storage bins that make a child's room look considered rather than chaotic.

BIBS

The Danish pacifier with the round shield and natural rubber teat, in every colour. Simple, classic, and the one most babies take.

cuddle+kind

Hand-knit dolls made by artisans in Peru, and for every doll sold, ten meals go to a child in need. Canadian-founded. One of the easiest gifts in the shop to feel good about.

Konges Sløjd

Copenhagen design at its quietest — organic clothing, bedding and accessories in dusty, grown-up colours. For the parent who wants the nursery to match the rest of the house.

Every brand we carry

Avery Row

British prints on playmats, muslins and pram liners — the practical things, made beautiful.

BabyBjörn

Swedish carriers and bouncers, engineered around a baby's hips and a parent's back. The bouncer is the one piece of baby gear people keep for the second child.

Beluga Baby

Bamboo baby wraps from Vancouver — breathable, stretchy, and made for the West Coast climate rather than a Scandinavian winter.

BinkyBro

Boys' swim shorts, bucket hats and sunglasses with a proper surf-town attitude. The rare kids' brand that doesn't dress boys as tiny adults.

Caribou

Montreal-made accessories for children and grown-ups — caps, bucket hats, beanies, tees and scrunchies in organic cotton and linen. Made in Canada to ethical standards, and designed to be worn for years rather than a season.

Cherrypick

The Magic Playwall and the magnetic play that goes with it — screen-free, created by parents, and designed to look like something you would actually hang in your home. A whole wall of drawing and building that rolls away when you are done.

Dahlia Press

Letterpress cards printed on thick cotton paper — the kind of card that gets kept rather than recycled.

Dans le sac

Reusable bags and home goods made in Quebec by a family business — diaper bags, totes, pouches and bum bags. Minimal, hard-wearing, and made as a genuine alternative to the disposable version.

Dinkum Dolls

Posable, weighted dolls with sleepy expressions, from Olli Ella. Made to be carried everywhere and photographed constantly.

Frida Baby & Frida Mom

The unglamorous, genuinely essential things — nasal aspirators, bum sprays, postpartum recovery kits. The brand every new parent is grateful someone bought them.

Happy Hippo Bath

Canadian bath bombs and bubble bars, in colours and scents that make bath time an event rather than a negotiation.

Itzy Ritzy

Diaper bags, teethers and the clever small accessories that make leaving the house with a baby marginally easier.

Little Bipsy

Waffle knits, joggers and relaxed everyday pieces in a muted, unisex palette. What kids actually wear when they're not being photographed.

Little Larch

All-natural play dough and bubbling play potions, made in Canada and scented with essential oils. Little Larch plants a tree for every sale, and their potion play sets carry small affirmations — sensory play with something quietly kind folded into it.

Lolo

Gentle baby skincare from La Belle Excuse in Quebec, built around their own olive oil. Wash, lotion, massage oil and diaper cream — soothing formulas with no colourants, sulphates or silicones. The everyday routine, simplified.

Mabē

See above — our most-shipped brand.

Meri Meri

British party goods with the craft dialled all the way up — plates, garlands, costumes and cake toppers that make a fourth birthday look like an editorial shoot.

Minika

Canadian-designed tableware, bedding and bath pieces in soft, natural colours. Stainless steel and silicone dinnerware built to survive a toddler, in shapes clean enough that you do not mind them on the table.

Minois Paris

Gentle French skincare made for children's skin — shampoo, balms and bath products with short ingredient lists and beautiful bottles.

Mon Ami

Plush animals and soft decor with real character — the kind of toy that ends up on a shelf as much as in a bed.

Moulin Roty

French toys made since 1972 — soft dolls, music boxes, kaleidoscopes and storybook characters. Nostalgic without being twee, and built to survive being loved hard.

Native Shoes

Lightweight, washable, wipeable shoes from Vancouver. The ones you can hose off after the beach.

Oeuf

Brooklyn-designed furniture and superfine merino knitwear, made in Peru and Europe with real attention to how it's produced. Grown-up design for children's rooms.

Olen

The Nest Carrier — newborn to 35 pounds, fitting adults from five foot to six foot five without readjusting between parents. One-handed to fasten in about a minute, in OEKO-TEX certified fabric, and priced well under what the luxury carriers ask.

Once Upon a Puzzle

Story-driven jigsaws from 48 to 500 pieces, designed with women illustrators around the world and by an occupational therapist. Soy inks, recyclable materials, matte textured pieces, a magnetic box and a cloth bag. Three percent of proceeds go to hunger relief.

Ourson

Reversible, non-toxic playmats in bamboo and organic cotton, plus sleepwear and nursery pieces. Founded in 2022 by a designer who could not find a playmat she wanted to look at — neutral patterns that sit quietly in a living room instead of shouting across it.

Paper Baristas

Handmade, letterpress-printed cards on the brand's own fair-trade paper, with sentiments that are nothing like the usual. Paper Baristas audit their supply chain and put profit behind social impact — including work against human trafficking.

Petit Lem

Montreal-designed sleepwear and organic basics, with the prints that make pyjamas worth photographing. Canadian, and very well priced for what you get.

Rockahula

British hair clips, bows and headbands — glittery, joyful, and the easiest small gift in the shop.

Roobear

Canadian, founded by a mother, and the brand behind our mama-and-mini matching. Bamboo sleepers, pyjamas and rompers plus rain and snow gear — OEKO-TEX certified, made in WRAP-certified factories, and tested through fifty-plus washes.

Snuggle Me Organic

The organic cotton lounger that hugs a baby rather than lying flat underneath them. A shower-gift favourite.

Sophie la Girafe

The French natural-rubber teether that has been in babies' hands since 1961. Still the one.

Stonz

Vancouver-made outerwear built for wet coastal winters — booties, mitts and rain suits that actually stay on.

Sun Bum

Reef-friendly sunscreen for babies and children that goes on without a fight.

Books

We carry a deep children's book selection — picture books, board books, early readers and the classics — sourced through Penguin Random House and Raincoast, plus small independent presses. Browse all books.
